Strange differences between UK and US English...

Although I love my American friends and colleagues, here's proof that British English makes more sense...

UK: GLASSES - US: EYEGLASSES 🤓
...Americans need to be reminded that glasses are to be worn in front of their eyes and not on their knees or nipples.

UK: SQUASH - US- RACKET BALL (sport) 🎾
... Do they need to remind themselves what they're going to be playing with?

UK: PAVEMENT - US: SIDEWALK 🚧🚗🚖🚕🚌🚧
... Do you have to remind yourself where to walk? On the side? Did the word pavement previously exist in America but many people were constantly getting hit by cars hence they gave themselves instructions to walk on the side and not in the middle of the road? So as a result, sidewalk?

UK: HORSE RIDING - US: HORSEBACK RIDING
... In the US, do they need to specify the area of the horse they'll be riding?
