🇬🇧 GRAMMAR: GET + INFINITIVE/ING 🇬🇧

🇬🇧 GRAMMAR: GET + INFINITIVE/ING 🇬🇧

    ✅ GET + INFINITIVE
Very common in spoken English but used very specifically like below.
    a) gradual development
    b) to have an opportunity/be allowed

    - She is not horrible. She can be nice. You should GET TO KNOW her. (spend time to understand what kind of person she is)
    - I know you don't like grechka but soon enough you'll GET TO LIKE it.

    - We didn't GET TO BUY any grechka. There wasn't any left (we didn't manage to)
    - When do I GET TO MEET your sister? (have the opportunity to meet/be allowed)

    ✅ GET + ING = "start....ing"

    - It's getting late. We had better get moving! (time to go)
    - Say goodbye to my sister! It's time to get going! (time to leave)
